The Man with the Magic Brush: Meeting Pulak Biswas

Dear viewers,

In November 2012, we submitted the findings of our group research to our supervisor Dr. Rimli Bhattacharya. What had begun as the group project of our M.Phil course “Children’s Literature: Childhood, Pedagogy and Expressive Forms” at the English Department of the University of Delhi, had enabled us to meet and interview artist Pulak Biswas. All of us and even our parents remember the image of the blue jackal from the Panchatantra, come meet the man who painted the image into our imaginations. . .

This film was recently showcased at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2014 in the panel discussion “Indian Children’s Literature and Pulak Biswas” organised by the National Book Trust. We hope that you enjoy this film and share it widely. Please do not edit or misuse the film. If you wish to screen it, please leave your email in the comments section here. We will be happy to make a copy available to you.

Please proceed to the 'Watch the film' page.
